Beautiful, cool, in lush green Chroussa lies at the southern part of Syros, up on sunny hills, 2klm from the closest beach of Vari and the small marina, 8 klm from the capital Hermoupolis and the medieval town Ano Syros. Chroussa used to be the beloved place for summer vacation for the wealthy Hermoupoleans, in times when the sandy beaches were not popular.
A beautiful pine forest embraces the village, favoured destination of migratory birds. The village, green and tranquile, is famous for its perfect climate, the longevity of its inhabitants, the good drinking water, its aromatic herbs and the organic products. Ideal place for nature and animal lovers, unique for walking, jogging, hiking or exploring the mysterious footpaths and the fabulous hills. No taverns, no shops in the village. There are many of them as well as café, bakeries and mini markets at a walking distance of 25min.
However, you can find in the village local family farm dairy products, honey, tsipouro, chicken & eggs.
