In old times people drew water from the wells, using animals to turn the wheel (magani). A stable was usually constructed around the wheel-well to keep the animals safe. Such a building, the only one left on Syros, has been turned to a unique, modern, magic stone cottage, with an exceptional character and a magic atmosphere.
With a total area of 70 m2, divided in two hemicycles, it is suitable for 2, but it can accommodate 4 people plus a baby. It contains a spacious sitting room with a fire place, 2 sofa beds, nice furniture suitable to the special character of the well, one bedroom with a big double bed and the shower bathroom, a charming fully equipped kitchen and a little WC.
It is equipped with TV, HiFi, coffee and tea appliances, hairdryer, fans and bath cosmetics, 2 refrigerators and household utensils, also iron and washing machine available. Every window of the well contains protective nets that keep insects out of the house.
All roomsl are spread on one level, making your stay a dream, as you are “wrapped” by rustic round stone walls and high timber ceilings. The well benefits from an orchard of 2.000m2 and private external area and terrace for relaxing, BQ and dinning alfresco. Guests are offered and encouraged to pick organic fruits from the garden.
Chroussa offers a big range of leisure choices. Hiking and jogging in the natural environment can be most enjoyable.Sports of all kinds at a small distance: swimming, skiing, rowing, serfing, horseriding & horse rideouts, tennis, basketball, hiking, trekking. Besides, a wealth of cultural events is taking place all over the island, throughout the year. The Aegean Music Festival, as well as the Festival of Classic Music, during July and August, are famous high quality events.
You can certainly enjoy privacy, relaxation, reading and writing at your own yard and terrace, in the most green and cool village of Syros. Cleaning service, babysitting, hairdressing etc. only on request.
As a welcome, upon your arrival, the basic for breakfast are offered: bread, fruits, tea, local herbs, sugar, coffee, milk and homemade cookies.
